MORE AND STRONGER STORMS

Tropical cyclones could increase as well as their intensity in the North Atlantic, potentially creating more and stronger hurricanes. Their frequency could increase 66% during active North Atlantic hurricane seasons by the end of this century while the projected numbers of tropical cyclones could increase by 34% during inactive North Atlantic hurricane seasons. Moreover, there could be an increase in storm intensity during both the active and inactive storm seasons. (Hurricanes are relatively strong tropical cyclones.) For those along the U.S. coast, among others, this is bad news.
