ELECTRICITY PRODUCED BY WOOD

A simple one-step treatment changes the nanostructure of wood, boosting the electricity it produces when wet wood can conduct electricity because of water and the dissolved minerals and salt it contains. Until now, researchers have mostly used materials such as graphene, carbon black or porous metal oxides for hydrovoltaic energy harvesting. These require a lot of energy to prepare.
