A new transistor could lead to smaller and more efficient electronic systems that control and convert electric power in electric cars, locomotives and airplanes. This could lead to smaller and more efficient electronic systems and help improve travel distance. With luck that would mean more transportation using electricity and lower CO2 emissions.
