LYME DISEASE AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate is a key driver of Lyme disease in the U.S. with larger effects in the Northeast and Midwest. Predictors included winter temperatures, spring precipitation, dry summer weather, and temperature variability. U.S. incidence will probably increase significantly by 2100. This is predicted to be a bad year, so: Cover up; use insect repellent; do your best to tick-proof your yard; check your clothing, yourself, your children and pets for ticks, and remove a tick as soon as possible with tweezers.
