The 99 acre glacial lake in Massachusetts that I face has no ice on it currently despite the fact that this is late January. Back in the early 1800’s ice was carved from Spy Pond and sent as far as India. Check the link below for a photo of that. This winter there has been only one incident of decent ice but nowhere near enough to skate on or carve a hole to fish through as has been the case in recent years. Hardly any snow too. A fluke? I don’t think so. Time will tell.
