The amount of methane humans are emitting via fossil fuels has been vastly underestimated. These emissions into the atmosphere have increased by about 150% in the past 300 years. Methane is the second largest human derived contributor to global warming, after carbon dioxide. On top of that, President Trump had the EPA roll back the Obama regulation requiring oil and gas companies to monitor and fix methane leaks from pipelines, storage facilities and wells.
