Climate change is intensifying worldwide heat waves. Records have already been broken in the U.S. this year. With social distancing in effect, people will shun cooling centers. Our cities rely on them to protect the most vulnerable to heat-related illnesses—elderly or chronically ill—who also tend to be most vulnerable to COVID-19. Let’s check on our neighbors this summer.
