ANOTHER PROMISING PAINT

Research interest in coatings and materials that trap bacteria for various applications has grown recently. A new paint harnesses living bacteria to capture carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. It can withstand harsh conditions, meaning it could be used anywhere to trap carbon. Producing high levels of oxygen and carbon capture for at least one month despite being completely dried and then rehydrated, such biocoatings could be further developed for various applications such as wastewater treatment and biofuel production.
