ALARMING ALUMINUM NEWS

With its light weight, strength, and durability, aluminum is essential to solar panels, wind turbines and electric vehicles. Its manufacturing worldwide emits more than a billion tons of carbon dioxide annually and perfluorocarbons (chemicals) warming the planet for 50,000 years. Global aluminum production accounted for the equivalent of 1.2 billion tons of CO2 emissions in 2021, the same amount associated with the energy use of 150 million U.S. homes. We’re not moving fast enough to reduce the problem.
