EV Safe Charge’s ZIGGY is a robotic mobile EV charging platform that serves all parking spaces, overcoming limitations of stationary chargers that require electrical infrastructure. It comes when you call it via a mobile app or in-vehicle infotainment system; doesn’t require a vehicle to park in a designated place; and can be implemented without the electrical infrastructure required of a stationary charger. A large video monitor on each side offers advertising opportunities so parking facilities can offset costs using ZiGGY to share advertising messages with parking customers. Or it could make money for hotels and other businesses leasing Ziggy to provide a charging service. It reaches the vehicle’s parking space before the EV arrives, moves aside to let the EV park, then positions itself behind the car for charging. Afterwards ZiGGY returns to its base to be charged from the electrical grid, a battery or by solar energy. 500 million chargers could be required globally by 2040, up from fewer than six million today. Something like this could be great.
