There’s little connection between price and t-shirt quality nor is it a reliable guide to how well it will wear over time. Heavier weight cotton t-shirts tend to perform better than lightweight ones and those with a blend of cotton and synthetic fibers (i.e. polyester or elastane), generally offer greater durability. By 2030, global apparel consumption is projected to rise by 63% to 102 million tons. A great deal of textile waste goes to landfills or is incinerated.
