Solar panels on a satellite have converted the sun’s photons into DC electricity, which the RF integrated circuit (RFIC) then turned into radio frequency (RF) power, which can be beamed to other space vehicles or to earth. Pricing estimates for this electricity source vary widely, from $0.025/kWh to a range between $0.61/kWh to $1.59/kWh. Solar power beamed from space at commercial rates is still a future prospect, but it should be an achievable future.
