SAFER HURRICANE HUNTING

The ALTIUS (Air-Launched, Tube-Integrated, Unmanned System) is a drone able to hunt hurricanes. Independent sensors allow it to process hundreds of decisions each second, learning and adjusting as needed. It’s preprogrammed to steer toward the hurricane eye, then determine how to stay within the strongest winds encircling the eye. It can operate in the harshest conditions, airborne even after sustaining considerable damage. The drone could communicate up to 275 miles, theoretically keeping Hurricane Hunters at a safe distance while surveilling the hurricane’s treacherous inside.
