MASSIVE METHANE
A massive underground explosion in Siberia has left behind a gigantic 165-foot crater. It was probably caused by methane gas erupting when the permafrost cover began to melt. Siberia has faced record temperatures in 2020. This is the 17th such crater uncovered in Yamal since the phenomenon was first reported in 2014 and is thought to be the largest.
