ThIs July was the hottest month ever recorded on Earth with records going back to 1880. The combined land and ocean surface temperature was 1.67°F higher than the 20th century average of 60.4°F. In just the Northern Hemisphere, the land-surface temperature was an “unprecedented” 2.77°F above the 20th century average. It appears very likely that 2021 will rank among the world’s 10 warmest years on record.
