Coronavirus patients in areas with high levels of air pollution before the pandemic are more likely to die from the infection than patients in cleaner parts of the country. Someone living for decades in a county with high levels of fine particulate matter is 15% more likely to die from Covid-19 than those in a region with one unit less of it. Considering that, it’s even more unfortunate that the current administration has rolled back clean-air regulations–on top of its negative impact on climate change.
