CONCRETE CO2 STORAGE

Manufacturing cement, which requires heating limestone to scorching high temperatures, produces an estimated 8 percent of global carbon emissions. Concrete can soak up CO2 from the air over its lifetime, though very slowly, but researchers have found a way to double this carbon-absorbing speed while making the concrete stronger. The key ingredients in the formulation are tiny nanoscale particles of titanium dioxide (also used in sunscreens and paints).
