Communicating scientific consensus about climate change about the existence and causes of climate change. 97% to 99.9% of climate scientists agree that it’s happening and that human activity is the primary cause. Prior to reading about this consensus, people studied estimated it to be much lower than it really is. In response to learning that, they adjusted their own perceptions, believed more in climate change, and worried more about it. But they didn’t support public action on climate change more. So, while there’s good news here, the question is how to gain support for action.
