Worldwide companies are underestimating their greenhouse gas footprint due to inconsistent accounting standards for methane emissions. Underreporting is at least the equivalent of 170 million and 3.3 billion tons of carbon over the past decade. It represents a significant emissions gap that could cost between 1.6 and 40 billion dollars to fix.
