When cows consume and excrete biochar, it remains almost completely intact and stable, meaning cows could spread biochar across the land, improving soil health while tackling their own climate impacts. Feeding biochar to cattle improves animal health and productivity and soil. Biochar digested by cattle is highly suitable for long-term carbon sequestration when applied to soil via manure, offering a promising strategy for compensating agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.
