Using polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the clear plastic making up beverage bottles and clothing fibers, a new chemical process transforms plastic waste into an effective carbon capture material. The PET can be converted into a powdery substance which can be made into pellets for use in industrial exhaust pipes.
