SPLITTING WATER

Model water molecules illustration

Using solar and wind power for water splitting, a process that uses electricity to split H2O into hydrogen and oxygen, offers a way to store energy in the form of hydrogen fuel. About 10 million metric tons of hydrogen are currently produced in the U.S. annually, mostly by using natural gas. Reduction in that would obviously benefit the climate. The process is far too complicated for me, but geeks among you might comprehend it.
