SALVAGING WOOD WASTE

Wood waste can be used to make a water-based ink to create 3D-printed objects. The recycled material had the appearance, texture, smell, and strength of natural wood. This would be a sustainable, biodegradable alternative to plastic. Materials for 3D printing wood  available today are typically composed of around 70% bioplastics. The new printing material is made only of compounds found in wood without binders or glues, and processing does not take any harsh chemicals like acetone.
