Scientists are employing high-energy pulses of electricity to turn any source of carbon into turbostratic graphene in an instant. That can be used cheaply to strengthen concrete and other composite building materials, massively reducing their environmental impact. Food and plastic waste, petroleum coke, coal, wood clippings and biochar are examples of suitable materials.
